About

I am an experienced digital learning specialist working in digital pedagogy, learning design and project management at Glasgow Caledonian University. My work sits somewhere in the third space between academic and professional practice. Before GCU, I worked at the University of Stirling and the University of the Highlands and Islands.

I have been invited to present at sector events on my work, including at:

  • SHED (Scottish Higher Education Developers)
  • ELESIG Scotland (Evaluating Learners' Experiences of e-Learning Special Interest Group)
  • Jisc Connect More
  • Jisc DigiFest
  • ALT Winter Conference
  • The University of the Highlands and Islands' Learning and Teaching Conference

I graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2011 with an upper second-class honours degree in Politics and History, and completed an MEd in Digital Pedagogy with distinction at the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2023. My dissertation explored community, connection and belonging in higher education, with a particular focus on online and distributed learning.

Since 2018, I have been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and I have served as a reviewer on recognition frameworks at both GCU and the University of Stirling. I'm working towards Senior Fellowship — maybe this trimester will be the one.
